Art in Hospitals:
My Lucky Friends

Art in Hospitals.

Smiles Through Art participated in an arts in healthcare program with the General Hospital of Mexico located in Mexico City. It is the largest hospital in Latin America, a public institution.

Smiles Through Art created the art program“My Lucky Friends,” for children with cancer. Children from ages 6 to 14 years old participated, creating diverse felt animal shapes. The goal was to provide the children with security, hope and happiness.

Arts in healthcare programs like STA are an extremely necessary part of the healing process. They belong in hospitals, as they improve the overall health of patients and instill positive emotions in them.
