A Joyful Day with Special Needs Children

Smiles Through Art implemented an Art program at the “Children’s Hospital of Las Californias / Hospital Infantil de Las Californias “ a privately funded hospital located in Tijuana, Mexico that continuously works with children from San Diego, CA and Tijuana, Mexico.

Children from ages 5 to 12 years old with diverse special needs such as Down Syndrome, developmental disabilities , ADD and ADHD created flowers with colored pipe cleaners and felt animals shapes.

Children with disabilities are constantly challenged in finishing their tasks, paying attention and having the necessary patience to perform well the activities.

Smiles Through Art helped the children create a link between visual thoughts and emotions.

Everyone had a joyful day!
