Creativity to the Elderly

Smiles Through Art participated in an Arts in Healthcare project in Eishel, an Assisted Living Center for Jewish Seniors located in Mexico. We partnered with The Jewish Women Volunteers Organization.

Seniors with different health conditions created a “Hamsa Hand” representations, using acrylic paint and 3-D foam.

The Hamsa is a symbol with significant cultural and religious meanings in various traditions and cultures. It is a universal sign of protection, power, strength, good luck and positive energy.

Arts in healthcare programs like STA are a necessary part of the healing process. We work in assisted living centers, retirement facilities, hospitals, and clinics to improve the overall health of patients and instill positive emotions in them.
