Portraits of Colors

Smiles Through Art was pleased to create and implement an art program for ETTA, a Los Angeles, CA organization serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

As part of our Art program, adolescents and young adults with disabilities painted self portraits with acrylic colors representing their personalities using black and white photographs and later made an art installation in the Wall.

The self portraits are important to be able to understand each personality, emotions, state of minds and how they would like to see themselves and be remembered.
It help them connect and inspire others.

Programs in Arts in healthcare are necessary for improving the well-being and creating positive minds.

It brings joy and healing to adolescents and adults with different health conditions.
